LOCAL BEACHES

Cliff Cottage is situated on St. Brides beach.

Along the coast of Pembrokeshire, both north and south, are glorious sandy beaches – Marloes Sands (within walking distance from the cottage) Broad Haven, Druidstone, and Newgale are good for family picnics, swimming and surfing. Broad Haven and Newgale are manned by lifeguards in the summer and there are village shops and pub/restaurant facilities. Marloes has a steep partly paved access path and Runwayskiln – an excellent place to buy lunch, is close to the public carpark and disabled facilities.

Elsewhere in the south of the county are the popular beaches of Tenby and Freshwater West and East. The beautiful Lily Ponds at Bosherston offer sheltered walks along gravel paths to Broadhaven (south) A beautiful beach accessed through soft sand dunes. Trails to Stackpole managed by the National Trust are rich in wildlife.

North Pembrokeshire offers high cliffs and dramatic coastal walks. Whitesands surf beach, the blue lagoon at Aberieddy and interesting harbours of Porthgain and Solva are among some of the landmarks.

With 186 miles of coast path linking the beaches of Pembrokeshire there is choice for everyone and the walk could start from outside the cottage door!
